Q: White Itunes Store Page

When I open the iTunes Store, it will begin to open properly. Then, it begins to slow down, and right before it is entirely loaded the entire store will turn white! It doesn't say "unable to connect" or anything of that nature. it's just a white screen. This has never happened before, I don't know what to do. A resolution to this problem is of course greatly appreciated.

After 7 calls to that horrible customer service (???) automated system, a live person FINALLY answered.

They are having technical issues. I told the rep "you guys are losing money with this problem; people can't download music or do anything".

The problem has NOT been solved after like 24 hours and I'm surprised Apple has not been able to fix the glitch. Just cannot understand it at all.

    Very weak Apple very weak.

I'm getting the same thing with the screen going blank just before the page has finished loading. I noticed it about 24 hours ago but figured it would just be glitch and I'd leave it a while before trying again and Apple would sort it out. Wrong. You'd think this would be a priority.

Are you now able to get into the store with the updated download? And did you uninstall itunes before you reinstalled the new version? They told me to uninstall everything and start over by reinstalling the new version!! This is crap!

I too just grew tired of not being able to see the iTunes Store, and downloaded the latest version of iTunes. I didn't unistall my previous iTunes library. Once the installation of the new iTunes was complete, they transferred all my music, apps, etc. More importantly, I was able to view the store in its entirety. So as inconvient as this is, it seems to be the simplest way to solve the probem.

Updating iTunes may work, if you can get the update process to work. Looking around with all the problems folks have posted after trying to update iTunes, I'm not interested. If iTunes is now broken, so be it.

However, it's unacceptable that Apple rigs their iTunes site to only work with new software. If Apple did this unintentionally (which is likely the case), then it's odd how inattentive they are to the whole problem.

For a company that supposedly has such good customer service, and seems to be totally (and only interested) in making billions of dollars ---- it's odd how they would not care that they've broken their gateway for lots of customers to access their store.

You're right, just give up and download the new version. I just did and so far it's working. I also didn't delete my previous itunes, just went into help at the top of the library and did check for updates. Took about 1/2 hour, but I now have the store back. Thanks for your input!

Same problem (momentary display of itunes store, then white window only) and I cannot download the itunes update... it hangs up and makes no progress at 17mb, then I have to use task manager to exit.
Store worked fine on this computer just a couple days ago...

*Alright I found a solution.* Open your I-Tunes, go to HELP, click "Check for Updates" Install the new version of 10, be PATIENT. The update page for Apple Software first appeared blank. It will appear, UN-check Safari and Quick Time if you don't wish to update those. Click Download and wait, once the new version is installed your I-Tunes Store function will be restored. PITA, but worth it.

    GOOD LUCK!

Same here - must be a systemwide problem (thankfully!) since late yesterday afternoon? I too just sent an email to Support and hopefully they'll have it solved soon.

What in the world is going on??? every time I try to open iTunes the screen goes white, all I can say is nice job apple for resolving the problem for your paying customers because its been doing this for 3 days now! Oh and another thing completely not related, but just to throw this out there iTunes is sooo slow with getting new songs. && Why even have a make a request option whenever I make one the song still takes a year to get in the store. Im sorry to sound so arrogant, but I'm getting just a tad annoyed.

I had the white screen problem just as described by everyone here, it happened suddenly a couple of days ago. And when I tried to download the upgrade from the itunes store it always stalled and I had to use the task manager to stop the download.
Yesterday I went to the apple site and downloaded from there successfully. I did NOT delete the old itunes program - just loaded the 10.1.2 and now all seems to function normally.
