Macbook charger green light not illuminated and not charging

My macbook has been plugged into the outlet all day. I looked up at my battery and it was nearly dead. I then looked at the light on my charger and it wasn't on. I tried a number of outlets and none of them worked. I plugged in other appliances and they worked fine. The cord isn't noticeably damaged or anything. It started to work for a couple second after I unplugged it and plugged it in again and after I set it down the light turned off. I am assuming something came undone somewhere in the cord... Is there anything else it could be? If it is the cord, where can i get a new one and how much does it cost? The computer is only a year old or so... I've never had a plug die on me even on my dell. Ridiculous.

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

First, try resetting the SMC:

If your MacBook is still under a year old, you are under warranty and would be entitled to a replacement from Apple if the charger is found to be defective. You can call Apple or visit an Apple Store near you.

If your Mac is over a year old and you bought the AppleCare plan, the same applies--call Apple or visit a store.

Replacements can be bought (if you're out of warranty) at the Apple Store or by clicking the "Store" tab above.
