How can I find out out the source of the processes listed on the activity monitor?

e.g. Process-fitbitd
User- nobody
5 threads
30.9 MB of virtual memory

I did but I removed that application months ago. Where might a part remain?

You probably didn't use the uninstaller to remove it. That item could be in a variety of places... I'd recommend looking for that uninstaller. If you can't find it, get a copy of [EasyFind|http://www.devon-technologies.com/products/freeware/index.html] and search your hard drive for "fitbit".
