Scanner Driver for Microtek 5900 that works with OS 10.6.6

I am pretty sure Vuescan works with it. Vuescan 9 is really nice, and the support is excellent. Whenever I run into a problem, I email him and there is usually a new version in a day or so, and an email from Ed Hamrick asking me if it fixed it.

The Microtek drivers for other scanners might work, but may be buggy. With the improvements in Vuescan, I have given up on them.

Have you tried the Image Capture program in your Applications folder? It works with some old scanners that are no longer supported by the OEM.

I would love the answer to this as well....I tried the latest VueScan and it fails to recognize the 5900. The VueScan website says its supported but requires a driver from Microtek's website but of course there isnt one there. I also tried ImageCapture to no avail.

Next step is to load ScanWizard in to the VirtualBox I have running on my Mac, but I would like a native solution.
