Damage speaker?

I think even a baby would have a hard time damaging their hearing listening to the output of the iPhone speaker.

No, but you may damage your hearing. While a speaker can be replaced, there is no fix for damaged hearing...it is cumulative throughout your lifetime. You could end up old and constantly saying "Huh?"

Also keep in mind that with it up loud you are going to use your battery faster. Especially if you are using any equalization. If you are using it to listen to music, podcasts, etc., just wait until some firms release their AirPlay-enabled speakers and get one of those.

Then keep your hearing in mind.
