What's that power cord like cable that comes with your macbook pro??

I have no idea what this cable is for? It doesn't fit in the laptop...does anybody know?

It goes from the MagSafe power adapter to a wall socket, and then provides an Earth to the system (essential in some situations to avoid a 'tingle' in the palms)

But it doesnt fir the Magsafe, I mean I tried and it doesn't fit.

The MagSafe comes with a localised adapter already fitted to it, if you slide that off it will reveal the socket for one end of the power cord.

I;m still confuse...do you mean take off the part that's magnetic like on the magsafe? Is there an illustration for this? Thanks

No, the localised adapter on the corner (of the MagSafe adapter) slips off and then the power cord you have slips on in place of it, the picture captfred posted really helps identify this. The magnetic end doesn't change.

ok so I've done that and now i'm charging my laptop through the magsafe that's connected to the other power cord. is that how it works?
