Q: Soundtrack Pro cannot be opened

I have just installed Logic Studio and all the updates relating to it. All works except Soundtrack Pro 3.0.1 which will not open. I get the following dialogue box:
"Soundtrack Pro cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Soundtrack Pro works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS X." ...and the option to send a report to Apple (did that).

I put the Logic Studio install disc in but Soundtrack Pro is dimmed out.

Any ideas?

iMac Quad Core, Mac OS X (10.6.6), 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5

Level 1 (10 points)

If you right click on the Install Logic Studio shortcut and choose "Show Original", it should show you the hidden installer folder. Inside the Packages folder you should find "PSTSharedA.pkg" and "ProAppsMetadataSupport.pkg". Try installing both of these package installers and see if that fixes it. This is what worked for me.

hi,
same problem, which i was aware of before installing Logic Studio. (iLife11 was blamed)
soo, i wiped the boot that came with my new MacPro 8core, and re-installed just 10.6.5.
no soap. STP and Compressor are greyed out.
the only thing that could have the AIC in it, is QT10.
i believe QT10 cannot be bypassed of install of the OS.
i tried the "terminal" command line but it doesn't work either.
truly, i believe it must be a QT conflict.
please Mr Apple, would you mind fixing this, as i paid out for something that's unusable.

I had the same problem with soundtrack pro. Unfortunately I trashed it hoping to reinstall it before I read Scooter's fix. But the installer is always greyed out with a message that a newer file exists already. I'm running the Logic installer. Any ideas?

Pull the whole thing off and start over. Try FCS Maintenance pack and see if that helps. There's something still on the machine

My issue is nearly the same. After upgrading to 10.6.7 and iLife '11 a few months ago (from 10.4.1 and iLife '08)
I can no longer open Soundtrack 1.5. Anyone aware of a solve for this issue? (I do not have Logic Studio.) Thanks.

I just finished installing STP and was running in to the same problem. Scooter ROCKS!!!

How do I verify that Compressor installed? It was grayed out and I was unable to select it.

Thanks Scooter! Same problem. Just installed Logic 9 on a brand new i7 iMac, 3.4ghz, 8GB Ram, OSX 10.6.8.

STP wouldn't work. Followed your fix and it worked a treat! Fixed!
