I click on extensions gallery and get this message: "We see you are not on Safari. You need Safari 5.0.1 to install and use Safari Extensions." In fact, I am running Safari 5.0.3. How do I get rid of this message an access the gallery?
MacBook Pro,
Mac OS X (10.6.6),
running Safari, Firefox and Chrome
Do you have the "Develop" menu activated?
And did you ever choose to pick User Agent to access some sites that don't take Safari?
Check that for us, OK?
Uncheck the "Show Develop menu in menu bar" box in the Safari / Preferences - Advanced.
Restart your Mac.
See if that helps.
If not, quit Safari (Command + Q) Open a Finder window. Select your Home Folder in the Sidebar on the left. It has a small house icon. Then open the Library folder then the Preferences folder.
Move the
com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop. Now launch Safari. Try accessing the Safari Extensions Gallery. If that works, move the .plist file to the Trash.
Done and yet ---- still not happening. BUT, I have discovered I can access the gallery by Googling and then scrolling down past the error message. So thanks all.
