how to save music of my iphone4

hi all

well i am a new user of apple products. i have got a iphone4. it was sync to my laptop with all the music files which were in my laptop. but unfortunatly my laptop crashed and i needed to format my laptop. now i have all my music in my iphone and want to save it in my phone and in my laptop too. as i have downloaded itunes again after the format i am afraid that all my music will be lost when it get sync to my new itunes because i dont have any music in my laptop now.
any kind of help will be appreciated. please friends let me know what to do about it how can i have my music in my phone and connect it to my new itunes.

First, iTunes>Preferences>Devices...disable auto-sync(under the edit menu if using Windows). Connect the phone, DO NOT SYNC, Store>Authorize this Computer, then File>Transfer Purchases. That will get purchased content off your phone into your iTunes library. Music ripped on your own will require third-party software, as Apple makes no provision to do so. Here's one example:

Make sure you have one unique entry in whatever supported applications you use for contact & calendar syncing on your computer. This will insure you get a merge or replace prompt when you do sync. Select merge. You never want to sync to an empty application. Doing so will erase contacts/calendars from your phone.
