I just got my first iPhone recently. I'm trying to update some apps, but I need to log into my iTunes account. My phone came with some generic account, and I have no idea how to change it over to my actual account. I also need to change it so I can authorize some apps on my computer.. How do I do this?? I hope I don't need the password for this default account because I don't have it. :/
There is no such thing. Where did you obtain this phone? Is it used? Sounds like it has another person's content & iTunes account on it. You can't transfer iTunes content to another account. If this content was not obtained using your account, you should: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings(plug into a wall outlet if not a 3GS or iPhone 4). This will return the phone to the state it was in when first removed from the box. Connect to iTunes, name it what you want & sync your content to it.
I bought it new, and it is some generic account. It's like mobile1 mobile at yahoo.. How many apps do iPhones usually come with? This has like 260 (and some aren't the free versions) so I don't want to lose all that..
Where did you purchase this phone? You may very well have an iphone "demo" model. These phones are, for obvious reasons, not designed for retail sale. If it is a demo model, some settings & actions will be restricted. In that's the case, you'll want to restore the phone as a new device in iTunes.
