Limited number of ringtones??

I have created a total of 8 custom ringtones using my iTunes library. I have selected ''sync all ringtones" in my settings. Only six of the eight ringtones sync. Two do not. When I individually select and change which six of the eight sync, no problems. All ringtones work but it appears that I can only have six custom ringtones??

What do I need to do to be able to sync more than six? By the way, I still have 10Gig left of memory.

Mac Book, Mac OS X (10.6.6), iPhone 4

I have created about 50 ringtones and they all sync. Check the file type and check the length of the ringtone. I think the final cut off for a ringtone is between 35-40 seconds, I accidentally made some 42-seconds and of course they won't sync.

Thanks, but all ringtones are 30 seconds or less, all are in the .m4r format, and all appear in my iTones ringtones folder. I can select any six of the eight ringtones and they all play and work just fine. My only problem seems to be that only six of the eight will sync at any given time. Seems weird to me. I was thinking that maybe there was a setting somewhere that limited the number of ringtones, buy your experience pretty much negates that.

Yes, I have the sync set to sync all Ringtones in the folder and they all sync except when I make one too long by accident.

Right-click each ringtone in iTunes, select get info. Are artists names listed? Are any of them the same? If so, this could be your problem.

No, each artist is different. None of the ringtones exceeds 30 seconds. All of them work just fine. The only problem is that a total of 6 will sync. It doesn't matter which ones I choose. If I choose 7, only 6 will sync to my iPhone.

I can't picture in my mind any logical reasons why only 6 would sync. Have you double clicked on them to make sure they play in iTunes first? Are you 10000% sure you have Sync ALL Ringtones instead of selected ones?

That makes two of us. I am absolutely sure that they all play in iTunes and on my iPhone. I am also sure that the "sync all" box is checked. The result is still that only 6 ringtones will sync at a time. Really weird. I am going to try to delete them and redo from scratch. I can't think of anything else to try.

Well, the little Apple gremlins who set up camp inside your iPhone have moved on to more fertile ground. I tried to sync my ringtones again (exactly the same way I did the other ten times).....and they all synced just fine.

Just wanted to point this out for the record, as I've seen people question whether or not there is a ringtone limit: I have over 900 custom ringtones and have no problem syncing them all.

I have about 60 and I can't decide what to use next, I would be lost at 900, would be playing with ringtones all day 🙂

i have the same problem with adding my ringtones.all of my ringtones are 30 seconds in duration. how come some users have more than 50 ringtones while i have a hard time adding ringtones to my 18 ringtones in my iphone???!!! HELP!! and by the way, the 2 ringtones im trying to add appears on the "ringtones" when my iphone is sync with itunes but when i go to the settings>sounds>, i cannot see the 2 ringtones!! somebody help me PLEASE!!

or is really there a LIMIT!!?????? im so desperate.
