Illustrator CS3 13.0.1 won't install

Hey,

Tried searching all over the internet for help with this. I can't get Adobe Illustrator CS 13.0.1 to install. It always fails and says it wants to install Rosetta (I don't want to install Rosetta).

Any ideas over here?

Thanks.

Isn't is fairly obvious then you need to install Rosetta in order to install CS3?

(I don't want to install Rosetta)

Why not? It takes up very little space on the hard drive, and is only loaded in order to use a PowerPC app. CS3 is a universal app, but the installer must require Rosetta to run. At least that's how it reads.

I hadn't wanted to install Rosetta because I didn't want the possibility of any PowerPC processes running that I wasn't aware of.

Not trying to be rude, but again, why? If it's an app you depend on, and there is no Universal or Intel version of it available, then what's wrong with running an older PPC app through Rosetta? I still have a few of them I use frequently.

I take it neither of you run CS3?

Haven't for quite a while. To keep pace with my clients to ensure I can open anything they send me, I upgrade to each major release. I think I still have the CS3 suite disk, but only to keep it around for referencing the serial number.

I just don't like the idea that Illustrator will run some Power PC process every time I launch it.

I'm really not getting the phobia about Rosetta. So a small bit of code loads in order to run a PPC only app. So what?

Anyway, CS3 is a Universal app, so Illustrator itself should run without Rosetta loading at all. It appears to be only the installer which requires Rosetta.
