Hi
I have a problem: Yesterday I bought ipad and after the firmware update, if you click on "update" button appears unknown error 1651
tell me how to fix it?

Hi and welcome....

Most likely your security software is preventing the update.

I tried to disable security Software but it did not help.
I also make a diagnosis and connectivity are also fine.
I do not think that the problem in security Software or Internet connection. because I also have Ipod Touch 4th generation and when you try to update this error does not appear

I have the same problem. Check updates for the iPhone is well and good, but not for the iPad.

Yep. Exactly the same here. I was just checking to see i iOS 4.3 was about yet. I do not have a SIM installed, and previous updates have worked fine. So, I've no idea why I am now getting this error message.

Hi,

I bought ipad and after the firmware update, if you click on "update" button appears unknown error 1651

If the firmware update was installed, there's no need to click update again.

Try restating your iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.

Restart your PC.

Try again.

Hello , i have the exact same problem (ipad 3g, can connect and download games but when i am trying to update get error 1651 ) , i've also got latest iTunes edition ( 10.1.2) and i've tried everything described above as well as in the other two posts in the forum but couldn't resolve it . Do you got any more ideas ??

Just wanted to say it seems to be caused by an unfinished install... Here are my observations:

History
- Never had any problem with iPad with the exception of disapearing iBooks.
- Last sync was at least 2 weeks ago.
- I bought a few apps (on the iPad) and updated iTunes a few time (on the Mac).
- I decided today to fix my iBook problem with a re-install) and proceed with an update of iOS to v4.3 while I am there...

Problem
- I now get error 1651 every time I sync my iPad.

Solution
- I turned off FW on the mac.
- Re-sync the iPad: no error.
- I switched FW back on.
- Re-re-sync the iPad: no error.

Everything seems to be working fine.

I have the same problem and I m seeking for a solutions since hours now!!!!! Is anybody of the apple team now please able to present a solution??? A solution which does not afford to be a technical expert???? I m of the opinion that users can expect a solution for problems which are presented since over weeks now!

Hello everybody

I do have the same "error 1651" with my ipad 3G, but checking on the imac preferences --> security , I see my firewall is off. Could it be my router ?? I didn't have this problem a month ago
