My iphone doesn't show in itunes device list

When I connect my iphone(3GS,version 4.2.1) with my laptop, iphone driver install properly but my itunes(10.1.2.17) doesn't show my iphone in device list. But if I connect my ipod with itunes then my ipod is shown in device list.

iphone 3GS, Windows 7

did you already go through the general troubleshooting tips?
Not recognized in Windows: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1495

Check on the Apple Mobile Device Service first and make sure it is installed and running in Windows: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567

I'm experiencing the same problem. I'm constantly referred to the Apple links of try a,b,c and d, nothing works. My computer does not see the Apple Device in the USB drivers list. How can I simply download the Apple Mobile Device Drivers? Is there a file to just download and I will be on my way. Windows 32bit Vista Operation system.
