Can't connect iPad to computer to sync?

Hi all so i'm new to this!
When I tried to connect my iPad to pc it kept popping up with auto play then saying cannot connect as disk isn't recognized?
It just kept flipping from screen to screen and doesn't come up as my iPad on the side to allow me to sync?
I am running a scan on my pc in case of bugs and have reset my iPad all to get the same response?

Any support would be great.

Try a different USB port. That worked for me.

l followed the link in Demo's response... uninstall and reinstalling iTunes, checking Device Manager, etc. And none of those things worked. Towards the end of the article they suggest trying a different USB port. When I did that I was able to see my iPad.

So I would try a different USB port first.
