Having exactly the same problem.

I have an iTouch 4th Gen 32gb, absolutely no life in the item, won't connect to itunes, won't charge. Nothing.

I've tried 4 different chargers, 2 different leads, 2 pcs and a laptop.

My iphone4 is instantly 'seen' in iTunes, whereas there's not even a flicker on the iTouch.

It was a gift at Xmas, so I have no receipt, and no firm date of purchase. So no support options are given to me from Apple.

I've read advice to hook up to itunes and do a restore as new, but as iTunes is not recognising the device, this hasn't been an option.

Any ideas?

thanks
