Currently Being ModeratedFeb 9, 2011 8:24 AM (in response to jkskinner)Are you connected to the internet whilst trying to update the apps?
Once you enter your Apple ID the App Store goes about downloading the updates from the internet - unless you are connected via a wi-fi or 3G connection it will not be able to do this.

Currently Being ModeratedFeb 9, 2011 8:25 AM (in response to jkskinner)First, I'd try to confirm that other Store functions work. Get a few apps, either free or cheap ones, and see if your account info is accepted for that.
Next, I'd try from a different network and see if it might work from there. If it does, you know where to start looking.iMac G5 17" iSight 32GB 3G iPad Shuffles (1G/2G) Nano 5G, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
Currently Being ModeratedFeb 9, 2011 8:27 AM (in response to jkskinner)Have you tried to update a few by selecting them individually? I found that helped me. There maybe an app in your list that is non functionable for some reason that is causing the problem. Try selecting a few at at time and see if that helps.2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon, Mac OS X (10.6.3), Dual Core Intel Xeon 2.66 GHz

I've been to the "genius" bar, customer service and the incredibly unhelpful Itunes store email support.Macbook pro, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

This is what worked for me, went to appstore on my MBP, OS Lion, tried to purchase a free app, gave me a similer error, then brought up the page where you can put in your credit card, or PayPal info....
The key here is at one point i got a "PayPal is not a valid payment type" on my iPad2.
I had to change to a credit card and not use the PayPal option. And now all is perfectly fine.

I'm deeply frustrate right now, because is unable to make the apps update in my iPad -This crash is happening since several days ago. I am a (long) list of several applications to updating, but when I make the intent, the system show a message who says that its is impossible to make the update!. I receive a suggestion for some people in the forums, to delete all this "problematic" apps (!?) and then, reinstall again, one by one... This procedure maybe resolve my issue, but, anyway... I could make the effort of annotate the name of all aplications that I could not updating, then delete all of them, then, instale all again... But the iPad come of our life for SOLVED our problems, not for INCREASED it... I think that this crash must be solved by the iTunes Store as soon as possible!!!!!. Come on people!!!!, join me to asking for a quickly solution to this problem!!!!!

I dont know ifnthere is a store anywhere near you. If so, go see them. Otherwise
Go to a regular computer and go to apple.com. Find the spot to log in to your account. If that works, then check the payment method and all other details real carefully. If you can get to the stoe and view your account that way, then there is a setting on your pad that is wrong, like your apple id. If you cannot login from apple.com, then there is something wrong with your account, not the pad.
