Would i be able to upgrade my PowerMac G5 to an Intel Core i7 platform

Would i be able to swap out the old PROCESSOR and add a quad core intel i7 processor, also would i need to change anything else assuming this is even possible......

PowerMac G5, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

New processor = new socket, new RAM type/socket = new motherboard, which of course means new graphics.

MacMini, iMac (Apple Store Special) or build a PC.

i7 - wait for X68 and Intel's Sandy Bridge at this point.

I have seen a gutted G5 with X58 board components, but that was it.

Nope. Sell it while it still gets a good price and put it towards a new Mac Pro.
