Airprint from Time capsule

Hi folks,

Can anyone explain why the Time Capsule printer connected via USB can't support my iPad. As I see it the TC is effectively a black box printer / disk server. So why can't it act like a proper print server and provide an airprint interface for my connected usb (regular) printer...

Seems like one of those crazy limitations..

Oh and while they are at it why can't it back-up my iOS device (s)

Come on Apple, if you want us to buy this stuff make it work together.....

1 2TB TC,
1 iMac,
2 MacBooks (plastic, Aluminium),
2 iPads,
2 iPhones,

and a partridge in a pear tree.....
