iSync cannot connect to iPhone 4

Question

iSync cannot connect to iPhone 4

iSync finds my shiney, new Verizon iPhone 4, but the Add Device dialog box says "iSync cannot connect to this device."

Is an update looming?

iMac 27" 2010, MacBook Pro, G5, iPad, iPod Touch, Verizon iPhone 4, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

itunes was already updated to include the Verizon iPhone 4 so it should work already plenty of people have been syncing already

so You're saying that iTunes already updates contacts, calendars, etc?

itunes is whats used to sync it all you have to select contacts and calendars and things in one of the menus when the phone is plugged in but yes once the setting is set it will sync it all 🙂 its in the info tab

The iPhone doesn't use iSync for syncing anything. The iPhone uses iTunes for this.

Thanks! Maybe Apple should improve the error message in iSync, or even automatically launch iTunes for people like me!

it should launch itunes automatically if it doesn't there is a setting in preferences for it

I'd still like for iSync to pair with my iPhone 4 so I could use my Mac's keyboard with my mobile phone (like I could when iSync first came out). I'd be interested in any constructive thoughts concerning this.

Not going to happen.

iSync is designed for syncing to 3rd party manufacturer's devices.

Hi Patrick,

I also wanted to use isync to update my phone with new contacts, using bluetooth. I assume you have to plug your phone into the computer to sync with iTunes. Airport is never on with this computer.
