Q: install order?

What is the best practice?

install/configure the osx as an xsan metadata controller first? then enable DNS and Open Directory etc.?
1. xsan
2. dns
3. open directory?

or

1. dns
2.xsan?

DNS is always first. I tend to do everything before Xsan. This means set up the servers, make sure DNS is right, make sure OD is right, then configure the storage and the FC network and ports. Then install Xsan and build volume. You can likely go in nearly any order. But DNS must be first or you will struggle with all future steps.
