Stop Notes from email to myself

Hi,
When I create a note using the iOS supplied Notes app a copy of the note is emailed to me.
How can I stop this from happening? Nothing in the settings on the Notes page....?

Thanks.

Hi. On the iPad, go to Settings / Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Under "Accounts" in the right-hand column, select your Mail account.
In the pop-up menu that follows, change the "Notes" setting to "OFF".

SOLUTION - iPhone 3GS (iOS 6.1.3) AT&T

This worked on my iPhone 3GS running iOS 6.1.3 on the AT&T network...My iPhone is not jailbroken or unlocked, so I cannot be sure about those devices!

STEP 1: WARNING: BACK UP YOUR NOTES AS THEY WILL BE DELETED FROM YOUR iPHONE

STEP 2: Go to Settings → Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

STEP 3: Go into EACH email account individually and slide OFF notes! (I know this will work for Gmail, but I am not sure about other email account types. You will have to go into them and see if there is a "slider" for notes. My email is a Gmail account.)

That's it. Let me know if it worked for you! My fiancé has a iPhone 5C (iOS 7) so if you are having this same issue on a 5C running iOS 7 I can mess around with hers and try to figure it out for you...Good luck fellow iPeople!

Blueoyster101 provided the answer I needed, with my acceptance of the (bizarre and inexplicable) side effect that turning off synching hides all existing Notes. Happily I didn't have any Notes I wasn't prepared to lose.

jessicafromlower hutt's information was interesting, but since I don't have a Mac, or Mac email (just a 3g iPad), not sure how to apply it. I gather it's Mac email's configuration of the gmail account, not something on gmail.

I'm replying to honolulu75, because I agree the issue is very frustrating, but completely disagree that this is "way too simple." The Notes app designers made a strange choice, and provided no means to modify it. Turn off synching and lose access to saved information? That's crazy.

FULL SOLUTION (iOS 7!)

On my iPhone 4S it worked.

STEP 1: Go to Settings Notes Default Account, then select "On my iPhone". It was previously on Gmail no wonder!!

STEP 2: Go to Settings Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then in EACH email account go into them and slide OFF notes! My email accounts are Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo. WARNING: BACK UP YOUR EMAIL NOTES AS THEY WILL BE DELETED.

("Are you sure you want to continue? All Gmail notes will be deleted from your iPhone")

So that's it. Let me know if it worked for you!!!
