Win7 32-bit installation BSOD on startup

Hi all,
I was bummed to find that 64-bit only works on newer macs. I have a MacPro Quad and so had to revert to 32-bit installation after the "Select CD-ROM Boot" issue posted elsewhere.

I can't get the 32-bit installer to work either! After Windows 7 Home Premium disk gets to completing the installation (after formatting and running normal installation), it restarts and then crashes out with BSOD and restarts. Continues the (bad) cycle of BSOD and restart.

How on earth do I get the 32-bit version installed in Bootcamp? Ack!

You have something else going on most likely with your setup.
RAM, graphic card, any controllers you have or external devices.

If you are doing this to reburn the DVD, you can do that from a VM.
If you plan to keep 32-bit, you need a 2nd activation key.
If you burned the disc yourself with Disk Utility you need to use reduced 2x burn speed.

You will have 1.9GB RAM usable after install.

Thanks! However, I tried so many times I've given up. Luckily, I found that by using my laptop MacBOOKPro, a different and newer machine, I could simply slurp my XP Bootcamp into a Parallels VM, then wipe the Bootcamp partition and try again with installing Win7. This seemed to work flawlessly, and I've already updated, and begun installing software. On top of it, I realized I can use my flat screen as a second monitor. Now instead of spending another $2k on an iMac, I'm selling a MacPro for a little more than half that. Nice!

I guess sometimes a bad situation can end up being the best. It's running perfectly now (knock on wood), including running Solidworks 3D CAD software flawlessly--all in 64-bit mode!

Cheers!
Joel.
