Why do 97MB of Playlists require TWO 700 MB CDs to burn?

I have a playlist that contains two tracks the total size is around 97MB. And yet when I try to burn this playlist to a 700MB CD it says that there is insufficient room and I must burn the tracks separately.

Huh?

What's going on? Am I missing something here!?

If you are burning an *audio CD,* the music gets converted on-the-fly to audio CD format, which usually entails a big expansion.

If you are burning a *data CD,* the size will be roughly the same on the CD as it is in the files.

However, only an *audio CD* will play in a normal CD player.
