Turn on Loop for a Movie on Apple TV 2

Okay, here is my problem, it's quite simple. I have a couple of ATV 1s and I've always used the iPhone or iPad remote app to enable looping on movies. For some reason, that has been disabled in either the new version of the Remote app or the new ATV, I can't figure out exactly which. In any case, I just want to turn on looping for a movie, not a video playlist, but one single movie (I just want it to continuously loop). I used to click the screen and turn on the loop button, exactly like playing a song on the iPod app, but that option is just gone now. In some apps, such as Keynote or iMovie, I can turn on "Loop" when exporting or using the Share function, but that's not always an option in some programs.

I've read some posts and articles that state if you just open the movie in QuickTime X, turn on Loop, and then save the file in the same format it will be respected by ATV, that doesn't seem to be the case. Does anyone know a workaround for this? Any help would be much appreciated!

That's part of what I'm asking, how do you "amend the video file to force it to loop"? I've tried opening the file, turning on looping, and saving it but that has no effect. Any suggestions? Also, I've thought of the playlist option but I play a 2 minute video on loop for about 12 hours a day, so I'd have to add the video 360 times which isn't really practical.

no idea, i've never done it myself, but i'm sure it has been mentioned many times before in here.
maybe a search thru the forums will give you the answer.

I'm not really sure whether looping videos still work on the Apple TV, they have done and then they haven't and then they have and I don't really know what the current position is.

You can add looping to a video in any application that supports it, QT Pro for example.

How can you add looping to a video in an application that supports it such as QT Pro? The only documentation that I've read states what I previously wrote, and that doesn't seem to work.
