MSN Games on Safari

I just switched from a PC to a MacBook Air and I'm not able to play any MSN games on Safari as it says I'm missing an add in. Any ideas on how I could access those online games? I tried Firefox and that didn't work either. Should I download IE for Mac? Thank you!

Hi,

Microsoft hasn't written IE for Mac for years and an older version won't run on Snow Leopard.

What you could try...

From the Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Advanced tab. Enable the Develop menu at the bottom of that pane.

Now from your Safari menu bar click Develop / User Agent. Try IE 8, or 7, or 6. Safari will default back to Safari 5.0.3 after you quit and restart the next Safari session.

If that didn't work, I was able to play a game at MSN on Safari 5.0.3. but I have Silverlight installed so give that a try. Download here. http://microsoft-silverlight-mac.en.softonic.com/mac

It's a cross platforum plugin so hopefully that will help.

Please take a moment and click *My Settings* on the right side of this window and tell us which Mac OS X you have installed. That will help now and in the future. Thanks!

Carolyn, thank you so much for your suggestions. Unfortunately, I still get an error message,

"Important Note: Your browser or operating system does not meet the minimum requirements to play on MSN Games. You may be able to download games for offline play; however, the online games can be played only with Internet Explorer version 7 or later, and Windows XP or later."

I've tried both the User Agent IE 8, downloading Silverlight and Adobe FlashPlayer and enabling JavaScript. I've checked the system requirements for MSN Games and I'm sure I have those requirements.

Any other suggestions? I'm stumped!

I just bought my first Macbook Pro for my daughter. So I experimented and got MSN Games to work.

First I downloaded the latest versions of Java and Flash just to make sure. On my PC's if Java isn't up to date the games won't play. This didn't work.

I then downloaded Chrome for Mac and the games load fine and play with no problem. So my conclusion with limited Mac experience is Safari has some settings that won't support the games or Mac is going to launch its own games soon and doesn't want you using MSN haha.

Hope this helps

Hey Kevin thanks for the pointers so far but i've hit a snag...when the screen pops up to download the content to start playing the actual game nothings coming up. Says "

Your download should only take a few minutes.
MSN Games is downloading and installing the latest version of Hearts onto your computer"

but nothing else after comes up so how'd you get past this part?
