Font families not grouping

Hi everyone,

I have searched all over for the answer to this question, but have had no luck finding an answer.

In OS X, my font families are not grouping. So, for example, in Photoshop, when I display my font list, it's one massive list, rather than groupings by family. I've tried reinstalling all my typefaces, installing a new library of fonts, and using suitcase fusion 2. Nothing fixes it!

I'm sure it's something really simple, but I'm hitting a wall here.

Help!

Mac OS X (10.6.6)

There is no way to do that in Photoshop. The font family name is separate from the style, which is of course the separate drop down menu to the right of the font family.

Adobe continues to be inconsistent with this. InDesign displays fonts in the same separate family/style drop down menus, but clicking on the font family name will show all grouped styles in a flyout menu. Illustrator does NOT do the same thing from the Control bar, but DOES from the Character Palette. Photoshop will not show a grouped family in any manner.
