Ipad, iOS 4
Make sure she has ios 4.2 or newer
I also have the original Ipad and there is NO icon on this one to use for printing, My husband has it on the Ipad2, but it is NOT on my original iPad, please help
Hi sally.
What os is on your pad? For it to print, it needs ios4.2 or higher.
If you have that ios or better, and if you have an airprint enabled printer on the same wireless network, you should be good to go. The print icon is usually embedded within an output icon. For example, in safari( this screen), the print icon is up just to the left of the address bar. Looks like a rectangle with an arrow thru it?
How do I find out what ios I have? And I know what the print icon looks like because my husband has it on his Ipad2, and I do not have that icon on mine.
Also the icon I have where my husbands print icon is, it is a +sign, and it does not give me a option to print, it says add bookmark, Add to home screen, and Mail link to this page.
Still waiting on a reply from last post on Nov. 19th
Go to Settings/General/About/Version for the iOS version. Have you tried ressetting your iPad by pressing and holding both the home and sleep buttons at the same time until the apple symbol appears (ignoring the slider to turn off)?
I did find out I only have version 3.2.2

Wow, that's really old. You must upgrade your operating system in order to use AirPrint.
Please tell me how to update, I have been trying to do this and I am getting no where
Plug your iPad into your computer that you regularly use for syncing. On the summary pane of iTunes, click on Check for software updates, and you should see a message telling you what to do next.
i was trying to do that, but cannot find anywhere it says to check for software, I went to updates and nothing there. Also is there ascertain place where it says to sync, when I plug my Ipad into the computer all it wants to do is upload all my pictures, can you help me here, please!!
When you connect it to your computer let it do all the picture transfer, etc. Then, in iTunes, you will see the name of your iPad in the DEVICES frame on the far left. If it hasn't already popped open a box asking if you want to update, click on the name of your iPad and then click on Update in the summary tab to the right.
Make sure you have iTunes 10.5 installed before you start this.
