Getting rid of scratches on the trackpad area?

I'm sure you've seen the black underneath the metal of your MacBook Pro once it is scratched. Here is an example from mine.

Is there any possible way to polish this up or fill it?

No, there isn't. Anything you could do to it would only call more attention to it. Best to leave it alone and live with it.

You could purchase a Moshi Palm Guard. It comes with a track pad protector. It would hide the scratches and prevent new ones.

I have one and like it however it took a little time to get used to the texture of it. It as a grainy feel to it.
