I have an app somewhere that is eating up my data allowance.

Can anyone recommend an app that can monitor data use by other applications?

I can find several apps that monitor data use over time - but what I need is an app that will tell me which apps are using the data?

Many thanks if you can help

You won't find an app that does such, as all apps operate in their own sandbox and simply don't have access to the API's necessary to do what you want. In the present iOS, only Apple could make such an app, and they have not done so.

I must have the same app. Although I'm connected at home using Wi-Fi, every day at around 12:30 AM there is significant data transmitted over 3G? Is anyone else experiencing this? My 200MB allowance can be consumed in as little as 7 days.

Interestingly I too have seen the same pattern at 12:30 AM .. to avoid this, while at home I turned off the 3G (Settings->General->Network)

Turning 3G network access won't accomplish anything in this regard. Turning 3G network access off turns 3G network access off only. This does not turn off EDGE or GPRS network access. Turning Cellular Data off turns off internet access via the cellular network entirely.

Hi ~ Did you ever find an answer?  I'm looking for a list of iphone apps that use data.  I'd be grateful if you have any suggestions.  Thanks

I believe that what you are experiencing is your iPhone backing up to iCloud at 12:30 A.M. You could check this by going into settings --> iCloud --> and see when the last backup took place. It should use wireless internet if it is available but if you do not have wireless internet or it is not connected it will use your data. I could be wrong but the time that your phone is using the data seems to coincide with the time that iCloud backups happen...Hope this helps.
