LVDS latch on motherboard repairable?

Hi I have a a1286 Model macbook pro. The latch that connects the lvds cable on the motherboard doesn't "catch" the end of the cable anymore. The lvds just cant connect to it. i know its not the cable that is causing it. Is this replaceable without having to buy a complete motherboard? Thanks.

A1286, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

The standard repair would certainly be to replace the logic board, and Apple won't try to replace the damaged connector with a new one. But if you can find an expert solderer who is willing to try that, the worst that can happen is that they'll flub it and you'll have to replace the logic board anyway.
