MacBook Air, iMac 27", Mac OS X (10.6.5), iPhone 4 - iOS 4.2.1
There is NOT a tones folder in the new iTunes. Worse yet, it's not easy to find the ones you had before. I am having the same problem with syncing my Tones from my phone and computer, but I do know that there is now an IMPORT folder inside of the iTunes folder where you can find Tones that you create. There is also a TONES folder inside of the iTunes folder that contains all of your tones. Hope this helps.

In the new update to Itunes(10.5.3), they removed the ringtone folder and the ability to create custom ringtones. I believe it has something to do with copyrights.
