NO. Visit the Corning web site for a complete list of companies and products that use Gorilla Glass. Apple is not one of them. None of Apple's products use the special glass made by Corning
Apple rarely allows other, and almost never suppliers, to use Apple's name to sell their own products, so that argument is meaningless.
Apple uses aluminosilicate glass. Aluminosilicate glass is the generic name for Corning's Gorilla glass trade name.
Yes, Apple uses Gorilla glass. The article you link to is BS, coming to a speculative conclusion based on a single, non-scientific test dop by on other company.
Wrong. You continue to allow the myth to perpetuate. Gorilla Glass doesn't have a generic version. That would violate Cornings intellectual property rights. They have the patent. AND, "Gorilla Glass is an alkali-aluminosilicate glass." Note the alkali in the name. Nice try.
Do you even bother to read the first paragraph of the document you are posting in these year old threads?
Stedman
My bad, I meant "alkali-aluminosilicate" which is made by Corning and sold commercially under the name Gorilla Glass and is used by Apple. Period. I'm outa here.
From the link you posted. As Stedman1 said, please read before you make the claim that this is a complete list.
«Due to customer agreements, we cannot identify all devices that feature Gorilla Glass. Your favorite device may include Gorilla Glass, even if you don’t see it listed.»
Actually the answer is No. iPod touch 4G doesn't have a Gorilla Glass made by Corning! Not only the iPod touch, but none of the apple products have Gorilla Glass.
But apple products do use aluminosilicate glass which are also hard and scratch proof. But they can't be called as Gorilla Glass cause Gorilla Glass is a brand name and is also better than the normal aluminosilicate glass!
So, the actual answer is no, apple products don't have Gorilla Glass installed, but the glasses used are also scratch proof, so you don't need a screen protector to protect them!
