Not to be pedantic, but the charger is not a white square but a white rectangle. It gets warm when charging because it takes energy to convert AC to DC. You never quantified "so hot". It would be easier to make a call on this if you gave an estimate of the temperature (C or F). Put the bulb of a thermometer in direct contact with the charger. If you think it's too hot to do that, then there is something wrong with the charger and you should think about replacing it.

yes I am using the charger that came with my MacBook Pro. I dont know exact degrees but it gets very hot to the touch while charging. I also agree with you on the shape! Looking at it flat its square but looking at it from the side (i dont know who would, lol) it would be recatngle. Thanks for cleaqring that up for them, lol.

I CAN NOT BELIEVE you nerds out there are being SO RUDE!!! WHO gives a EF'in **** what the SHAP of it is...... Only a NERD would argue over the exact demensions of a laptop charger (What ever the term...) Im apple certified technician and it is NOT important !!!!!! GET a grip this site is to help customers with apple products NOT be smart and idiotic!!!

Your charger probably needs to be replaced, but apple products will get noticibably warmer during charging...

If its older then a year or two id suggest replacing it, Also if your using a cord not from the original computer lets say a MacBook Pro on a MacBook or a MacBook cord on a MacBook Pro then that could also cause warmth, I remember personally my Macbook (Alli)and iBook 14" g4 GOT considerably HOT while charging Although My 2008 17" MacBook Pro in perfect condition does not.

I think people that are "trying" to help people here should remember that small information such as adapter demensions are not importrant and being RUDE SUCH AS "NOT TO BE PATHETIC" don't say that JUST SAY "TO BE PATHETIC" cuz it is!!!

LATER, Y'ALL!!!
