NPR Podcast Audio speeding up

Hello - Love my IPAD - bought the one of the first. I've downloaded multiple podcasts via ITunes and most play back at a normal rate of speed but the NPR podcasts all of them - talk of the nation; wait, wait don't tell me; fresh air; science friday play at at least double speed. Yes, I removed them from the IPAD and reloaded and yes, they play normally on my IPHONE, MAC, and IPOD - this is so strange, does anyone else have this experience? Can anyone help? Thanks. Tami
