can't type any of my numbers

Obviously my note above was a coincidence, because shortly after the message my number keys failed completely.

Took it to the Apple Store and they replaced the keyboard (very costly, glad had coverage).

This is how my problem really solved. I thought I would update the post with correct information & solution.

Happened to me, selected the correct language for my keyboard, considering my keyboard layout and making sure the one I was selecting from the list had exact matching keys with the physical keyboard installed on my mac. Works now.

I dont know if it's a bit late to solve this but i had this problem yesterday, I just can type numbers if i press number key with Option at the same time.

I've searched a lot of website but find no solution. After that, I try removing all my languages (expect for U.S.) in System Preference/ Keyboard/ Input Resources then add them again. It worked!

I tried resetting PRAM with no luck.

I added a new language and then typed with new language, numbers worked. Then I switched back to my original US keyboard setting and removed the language I temporarily installed.

Now everything is back to normal. ( 123456789 )

I think there is an error when using keyboards from different languages (except the original - U.S keyboard). If you can't type numbers, then change the input of keyboard preferences to U.S. This will solve the problem immediately without resetting anything.
