Unable to Instal the Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard

Hi All,

I am unable to install the Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard on my Macbook Pro using a CD. Every time I run the CD, the program quits unexpectedly.
Appreciate if you guys could help.

Hi Allan,

It does meet the specs for Snow Leopard...its just today that I started experiencing this error...mine is a new Macbook Pro 2.66Ghz one....
I somehow managed to re-install the OS, but iTunes and Safari are still not opening up. When I click on their tab, a new window pops up saying "Safari quit unexpectedly".
Let me know if you have seen this issue before.

What happens if you open the Applications folder and click on iTunes and Safari there?

Hi Allan,

Its still the same...a window pops up and says "iTunes quits unexpectedly".

Snow Leopard does not come on a CD. Can I assume you mean a DVD?

Second; is this a retail copy of Snow Leopard, or a "borrowed" gray disk from another Mac?

Yeah It is a DVD...I got it when I purchased Macbook 6 months back...

So it would be the machine specific gray disk the MacBook came with.

Worth a try, restart and immediately hold down the Command Option+PR keys to zap the PRAM. Hold it through two startup chimes, then release the keys. Now try the OS X installation disk again.
