Combo HD and Standard

Question

Combo HD and Standard

I have an Imovie project with a combination of both standard and HD clips. What will happen to the standard video portion if I export with the HD settings?

The video gets blown up and stretched to fill the frame. You can turn on Cropping and make it fit so it's pillarboxed if it's 4:3 media. It will still blow up from it's SD size to HD size and look soft.

My best advice would be to create a short project, about a minute long and include both types of clips. Share it to iTunes in 1080, 720, Large, and Medium and you can see for yourself how it looks in the various sizes.
