How to sync with itunes over LAN?

Hi, I have a 3Gs that sits in a speaker charger dock (with no USB connection) and I want to do all the syncing without having to remove the phone from the dock and connecting to the usb cable. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue on doing that for itunes syncing. I do have a local LAN that I have full control over, and I've read about creating an adhoc network, but don't want to break the existing network...is there a simple way of getting iTunes to see my iPhone over the existing LAN? thx
