how to reset to setup assistent ?

please help ..

How to reset Snow Leopard back to the Setup Assistant?

i want to reinstall 10.6 / updates, several progs and then, at the restart, get the osX setup assistent without any user, just as "new" ..

Erase the hard drive and reinstall Snow Leopard from scratch, and the Setup Assistant will open at the next startup.

yes, that's sure, but i want the assistent to "come" again when osX install with update and some new apps is done already and i'm not the user again ..

there should be something i must type in the terminal; for 10.5 i knew, but i'm not sure if same works with 10.6

I don't think that's possible. You must run the Setup Assistant first to be able to get those things installed, and Setup Assistant is automatically deleted after one use.

As eww says, that's not how +Setup Assistant+ works.

You can use the similar +Migration Assistant+ app after you establish a user account, but that't not recommended. For one thing, you'll end up with an extra user account.

What, exactly, are you trying to accomplish? Are you starting "from scratch," or will you be transferring apps and/or user accounts and data from another Mac or backups of it?

Why do you need to install updates and apps before doing whatever you want to do?

As EWW said you can't do it over again, about your best bet after running SA is running Migration Assistant however I'd recommend starting over again as he mentioned.

Here are the Terminal commands to delete a temporary (or lone) account in single-user mode on Leopard (in the following commands, replace username with whatever account short name you've created). Note that this must all be done in single user mode (hold Command-S during boot).

$ mount -uw /
$ rm -R /Library/Preferences/
$ rm -R /Users/USERNAME/

$ /bin/launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.DirectoryServices.plist

$ dscl . -delete /Groups/admin GroupMembership <username>

$ dscl . -delete /Users/USERNAME

^this line hasn't worked for me

$ rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone

$ shutdown -h now

It's a little late, but for the record there's some incorrect information in this thread.

The Setup Assistant is not deleted after one use. It can be run any time by deleting the file /var/db/.AppleSetupDone and rebooting.
