Pages shows as installed in App Store but I never installed it

I am on 4.2.1 and have Pages installed on my MacBook (10.6.6). Pages shows as installed on my iPad in the App Store but I have never installed it. Pages does not show on my iPad or on my list of Apps when connected in iTunes.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

Are you confusing the Mac App Store for you Mac and the App Store for iOS devices?

In the Mac App Store on your computer, Pages shows up as installed because you have Pages on your computer. It won't show up in your iPad apps unless you buy the iOS version from the App Store.

Perhaps I am. I was assuming the app store application on my MacBook was just showing me apps for my iPad and pod. Are you saying that it is also looking at my laptop apps?

The Mac App Store, which is what the App Store application on your computer connects to, only shows you Mac OS X applications. It does not show you any of the apps you've purchased for your iOS devices. The only way you can see what you've purchased for your iPad and iPod is via iTunes, or the App Store app on those devices.
