Using iPad in marketing materials

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to pose this question, but I had a question about iPad giveaways. Apple's copyright department says that the term "iPad" and iPad images aren't allowed in third party promotions, but there are tons of promotions on the internet and elsewhere using these terms and images.

Why isn't it allowed to use the term/image and if they can't be used, what term should be used?

"You may not use the Apple Logo or any other Apple-owned graphic symbol, logo, or icon on or in connection with web sites, products, packaging, manuals, promotional/advertising materials, or for any other purpose except pursuant to an express written trademark license from Apple, such as a reseller agreement."

One would presume therefore that anyone using Apple's trademarked terms and images either have obtained permission from Apple or are using Apple's property illegally. If you have further questions, you should have your attorney contact Apple's copyright office. None of us here can speak for Apple in this matter.

Regards.
