Text messages and caller id

Do text messages from the Verizon iPhone show who is texting, or just the number, and is it possible to show your name automatically when sending a next?

For Verizon iphone *67NumberCall to deactivate caller ID on individual calls, *82NumberCall to deactivate caller ID to all calls to that number, or go to myverizon.com to block caller ID on all calls: My Plan--> Add/Change Features--> Caller ID Blocking

If you are on Verizon, try *228 then option 1. If that doesn't work, call Verizon helpdesk and they can fix it. You'll need to call from another phone though since you'll need to do a reset along the way.

its going to be the same as at&t if the contact is in your address book it will show the address book name if not it will just be the number and there is no way to send your name with a text

Thank you. I noticed that "Show my Caller ID" is no longer a menu option on the iPhone. I imagine it is on by default. Any info on this?

the show my caller id menu option is still on the at&t iphone and all that does is either block your number or show your number has nothing to do with your name

The Show My Caller ID option only works for voice calls. It does affect text messaging, where the phone number is always sent.
