How To Disable Camera

Hi,

I need to disable camera on my iphone due to restriction in my work area. I saw a method to on a forum to SSH into iphone and delete camera app folder. I am able to SSH into my phone but problem is I can't find camera.app folder. Can any please help me to get the directory where I can find camera.app folder.
Hiding camera ICON wont work for me.

Settings > General > Restrictions will disable the camera. It can only be enabled with the correct passcode. If this is not enough, you might be able to do it with the iOS SDK... http://developer.apple.com/devcenter/ios/index.action

If I understand your question, I don't think you can do what you want. If you want to permanently disable the camera so that you cannot turn it on again, it can't be done using any of the settings on the phone.

You can't.

Disabling camera.app, even if you could, wouldn't disable the hardware and the camera would still be usable by other apps.

So for example, if you work in a secure area, you'll never satisfy the "no cameras" rule with an iPhone unless you take a drill bit to the camera. 😟

Goodbye warranty, goodbye service from Apple. But if you need it for security puposes it's the only way. You would also have to cut the cable and remove the connector to insure that it could not be reconnected.

Fortunately I don't work so I don't have to do this, but I know others who have. And Iresq is well aware of what has to be done to meet security regulations.

Why am I getting all the replies on this? I merely answered the OP and gave him a way to take his iPhone into a secure area. Sort of like taking a drill to it. And I'm well aware the warranty will be voided and he'll be advised of that fact if he does it.

Again, I don't work, I don't need my camera removed.

I didn't mean to reply to you in particular, just to the thread in general.

A lot of times it's annoying to scroll back up to the original post to reply, especially if you're doing it from your iPhone. 🙂
