Voice deeper in recording...

When I record vocals to Garageband my voice is deeper than normal. What settings do I need to get to fix that? Is there a reset button on vocals so it can bring it back to its default settings? Oh, and the only effects that are turned on are Master Echo and Master Reverb, but they are both at zero.
