Reformatted HD, now cant sync iPad cause its linked to PC before reformat

I recently reformatted my hard drive. Now after reinstalling OS (windows 7) and attempting to sync my iPad, I am getting a message stating it is already synced with another computer, which is actually this computer, before the reformat.

It is wanting to erase everything and sync with what is in iTunes. Is there anyway around this? I dont want to loose everything I have on my ipad now. It was about a month or so since my last backup of my ipad before the reformat, so I would loose alot.

I havent tried my iphone yet, but I am assuming it might have the same problem.

I did save all my itunes info on my computer before the reformat and use it currently for itunes installed now. It will just have my backup from a month ago.

Is there anyway around this or do I have to erase and sync?
