How to Enter Static Ip in iPod Touch (8Gb)

Dear All,

i am facing trouble connecting my iPod to wi-fi network at my office.

I have the following details with me:-
IP:- ......
Subnet mask:- ......
Default Gateway:- .......

Pref DNS:- .....
Alt DNS:- .....

But in my iPod i have the following options:-

IP
Subnet
Router
DNS
Search Domain

wat is "Router" and "Search Domain"? How can i connect to Wifi network with with the details that i have??

Kindly help me..

Vostro 3300, Windows 7

Router = Default Gateway

The preferred DNS and alternate DNS servers can be entered in the iPod DNS field separated by a comma.

Search Domain can be left blank

Ur reply was valuable but friend , i am not able to save this setting.

Steps i followed?.

Wifi-> blue arrow->static-> IP,subnet,router,DNs and alTERNATE DNS (SEPERATED BY cOMMA)..

WAT NEXT?

how to save the settings.

and everytime DHCP tages take IP address starting with 169

please help

Of the three choices for IP allocation type, DHCP, BootP, and Static, you must select Static (touch static to turn it blue).

If you need more information you will need to supply some more details on your network. Do you need to register your iPod's MAC in your network?

Your touch will save the setting if it successfully logs onto your network.
