Using Landline on Macbook
I have read the forums for about an hour trying to find an answer to my question and sorry if I repeat a question that is here somewhere.
I want to be able to hook my landline to my Macbook so I can send and receive calls using my headset. I have a wireless router or a direct connection. I have a Skype account, but the phone line I want to use is our business line covering 4 different companies (one number) and the added expense to switch everything over to a new number is out of the question since we are already paying for our landline service.
When I had a PC I could do this. The phone would ring and I could either pick it up in the other room, or click the icon and answer on my head set. I could also dial out. But at the time I had just switched from dial up to DSL and was in the US at the time (I am on an island in the Pacific off the west coast of Canada with cable internet)
Is it possible to do the same thing on my Macbook without having to buy new phones or use things like Skype or bluetooth or iPhone?
It was possible in the olden days, but that was also back when Windows was in the last century.
