Mar 17, 2011 2:58 AM in response to sirjameswby andy323i,I'm having the same problem however, I'm using Chrome. I can watch YouTube videos on my wife's iMac but get the stop start video on my MacBook. Firefox doesn't have any problems. I don't bother with Safari. -

Nov 22, 2011 1:54 PM in response to sirjameswby christina201,I was having the same problem, suddenly black box on youtube vids, unable to play them. I was able to solve the problem by checking the 'software updates,' pulled down from the apple icon, top left. Installed the updates, and now all is well. Easy! Hope this helps someone!

Feb 10, 2012 9:54 AM in response to sirjameswby Jeffrey Studebaker,Add me to the list. On my Snow Leopard, MacBook Core 2 Duo, updating Flash didn't work, nor did setting Safari to run 32-bit.
Meanwhile, my wife's Core (not 2) Duo MacBook runs Youtube just fine with the very same software.

go to this link and opt out of the trial. I found all my videos work now.

THIS is the answer. All better now. YouTube isn't doing a very good job with HTML5...
