Cannot Connect to Apple Apps Store since today 19/2/2011

Hi

I cannot seems to connect to the Apple Apps Store today.

I can't seems to Apple User ID either.

Yesterday was perfectly fine.

But not today. I read thru every possible troubleshooting steps in the forum.

And It cannot seems to work at all.

I cannot update any software which rely on Apple Apps Store.

For instance Intego Virus Barrier Express. I cannot update and virus definition files with it.

My Autodesk Sketch Book Express was corrupted for no utter reasons.

If the Apple guys are doing maintenance work with the Apps Store.

Please at least let us know what is happening.

Rather than pondering and tinkering around with all the settings.

Hi,

Quit the Mac App Store if it's open. From the menu bar App Store / Quit App Store. Or Command + Q on your keyboard.

Launch iTunes then from the iTunes menu bar click iTunes / Preferences then select the Advanced tab.

Click: *Reset warnings and Reset cache.

*

Now from the iTunes menu bar click Store / Sign Out.

Try the Mac App Store.

If you still have problems, follow the paths here.

~ (Tilde) represens your Home folder.

~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db. Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.

~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist and com.apple.storeagent.plist files to the Trash.

~/Library/Cookies. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist and Cookies.plist files to the Trash.

Restart your Mac.

Relaunch the MAS, try again.

You may want to read here before installing anti virus software on a Mac running v10.6.6

If you still can't login to the App Store contact MAS Customer Service here.

If the Apple guys are doing maintenance work with the Apps Store. Please at least let us know what is happening.

After reformatted the harddisk and reinstall the OS and update the combo.

After a few days time, the problem came back again.

This is what I found today.

The Apple Apps Store didn't work!

It says "Cannot connect to Apps Store".

And come to my surprise the iTunes too wasn't working.

It gives me error such as these... (see below)

iTunes can't verify the identity of the server "buy.itunes.apple.com"

The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "buy.itunes.apple.com",which could put your confidential information at risk. Would you like to connect to the server anyway?"

Cancel Continue buttons.

Then the next error comes and says ...

We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occured (-9813)

There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.

Ok button.

I also got this articles from one site..

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/02/22/appleitunes_privacyleak/

And

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/02/18/thepaymentproblem/

And

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/02/22/stevejobs_saasemail/

Frankly, I do not know if any of these got anything to do with it.

Because I find this problem a never ending one.

I have also brought the matter up to the Apple Feedback.

So I am not so sure if they read the message.

Because we are not getting any responses from them.

To be honest with you I am so fed up with this crop up with Apple Service.

I feel like I am going to throw the Mac out of the window.

At this time "Nothing Works!"

It definitely sounds like a network problem to me, either with your home network or with your Internet service provider. I would suggest that you look at your router settings and perhaps contact your ISP. You might also take your MacBook somewhere else, to a friend's, an Apple Store, etc. and try connecting there. If things work at another location, then it's almost certainly a problem with your network, not your Mac. One thing you can try: A 9813 error indicates a bad web certificate. Try this:

- Go to Applications -> Utilities -> Keychain Access

- From the dropdown menu, select Window>Keychain First Aid

- Select the "options" button

- From the General Tab, select "Reset My Keychain"

That will reset your passwords and the stored certificates. Then try iTunes again.

Hope this helps.

By the way, none of the links you posted have even the remotest relationship to your problem. As to Apple Feedback, as their pages clearly say, you will not get a response from them when you send a comment by those pages. Those are not technical support venues, they're only a way to send comments and suggestions to Apple.

I can sign back into Apple iTunes and the Mac App Store now after an AppleCare senior tech worked out the problem with me.

The sign in problem people have been happening is a problem that is not the individual users, but one that originated at Apple for some users.

I was able to get back in after first going to http://appleid.apple.com and going to my "manage my account" link, and then signing in again. That did the trick.

chapkit.

Cannot work man.

I am dead serious after formatting the harddisk and reinstall the os.

The problems come back again.

I try many things from the forum and apple support.

All cannot work.

There some Apple Users don't like the Mac Apps Store.

They even tell off from the youtube.

My suggestions to Apple.

Discontinue the Mac Apps Store.

Because it brings more problems to us!

I have called the Apple Support Numerous time.

And come to find out that they are manned by staff or telemarketting in India.

When you ask them out. There are many things which they asked you to do.

In a loop that is. Things just go round and round.

When they cannot solved. They chicken out.

Seriously I think. From my personal point of view. Outsourcing to these companies will not do any good to the business.

If you say a cheap labour. That could be the cause of the problem to blame.

But think again not only Apple outsourcing to these companies. There are company like Intel. Hp. Dell.

Just to name a few.

They are outsourcing to Telemarketing Company to India, Philipines or even China.

That have caused many people in Tech Support Group got lay off and cannot get a job.

I know I am not the only one.

In fact the truth is many. All over the world.

Many people in tech support are jobless and being taken over to countries in India,Philipines,China for doing or handling our jobs.

Dave, and to all.

Please take note.

After you have formatted your harddisk and reinstall the OS with the problematic 10.6.6 Combo.

You will face problems with certain apps in the MAS. (or whatever they want to call it. In simple terms the Mac Apps Store)

For instance if you have install Intego Virus Barrier Express.

You will have difficulties in getting updates.

Because your token is being used up.

Then you will know that you cannot do the updates.

I have informed this to Intego Support.

If you have any of such problems that coincide with the Mac Apps Store.

You need to check with the software vendor directly.

As for the Intego Virus Barrier Express.

You have to ask them that you have formatted your harddisk and you cannot do any virus definition updates.

They, Intego, will send you a file GetVBIdentifier.zip to send them back of your Network Mac Address for verifications.

Then they will reply to you to get back your token for virus definition preimum updates.

So all of you here who just happen to read this forum.

Take note.
